Recommendation:

If teachers could enter in their choice of vocabulary to utilize in some of these games, the site would be even better. Some of the activities provide an 'easy' or 'advanced' level, though teachers need to decide if the game practice is valuable for a whole class experience. Visit the teacher home page at http://teacher.scholastic.com/ and click on 'Online Activities' to find additional activities that can be viewed by grade level, subject area or learning activity.

Maggie's Earth Adventures provides interactive games for students in English grammar, Math, Science and Spanish. This page is part of Scholastic's larger site that contains lesson plans, strategies and tools for teachers of all subjects. Possible uses:

For enrichment or for students who complete work quickly, these games provide skill practice. Some of the activities are interdisciplinary -- studying Science words in Spanish, for example. Whole classes can use the activities in a computer lab.
