Recommendation:

This is an interesting project to utilize teen fashion interest and enhance a vocabulary lesson. Be aware of all student interest; some students may not be interested and may be more inclined to create pages for pet items or some other interest. The WebQuest suggests a final product that is cut and pasted from catalogs. An electronic version is possible, with images imported from sites. This would take some know-how, but the final product would be more polished. This project can take one class period or three.

Description:

Through this WebQuest, students create a clothing catalog in German. Students research clothing styles in teams. They then find items to include in a class catalog and write a description, in German, of each item.

Possible uses:

Students work in teams to research, find pictures and write a description. Students must include price in euros, fabric, colors and sizes. These are the primary vocabulary words for the project. Each team completes two pages and the class combined creates a catalog. Find an online translation dictionary to share with students, such as http://dict.tu-chemnitz.de/
