Wuthering Heights WebQuest
Recommendation:
The teacher page provides helpful tips to be prepared for the daily tasks students will work on. This WebQuest is unique in combining a research element with a play-writing element. Students are first asked to be researchers and then next to embody a character and create a scene together.
Description:
From the website: "In this WebQuest, students take the idea behind Wuthering Heights and apply it to a different period. The will take the emotions and relationships present between Linton, Isabella, Heathcliff, and Catherine and translate it to another period. They have the choice to apply it to present day, the 1980s, the 1960s, or the 1920s."
Possible uses:
Students work in groups of four. After reading Wuthering Heights they embark on this WebQuest to apply the story and characters to a different time period. Students select a time period, research their role, write a character analysis of one of the four main characters and a script of a scene.
