Description:

Tall Buildings is an exhibit and resource about twenty-five tall buildings from different countries. Through interactive experiences, learn about aerodynamics, structural ecological enhancements and structural technologies. From the website: "Tall Buildings presents a focused study of twenty-five tall buildings. Each project was designed within the last decade for sites around the world by an international group of architects and engineers. We consider three fundamental aspects of the tall building: technology, urbanism and program. Collectively these buildings address the most current concerns confronting building tall, from issues of safety, structural soundness and sustainability to programmatic and formal inventions that rethink the notion of the street and the topdown structure of traditional hierarchies."

Possible uses:

Students can use this site for research. Teachers can research this site and then share certain buildings with students to enhance a study of architecture and design. Particular images (site plans, models, photographs) can be shared via a projector to focus on particular features and design components (circulation, design technologies, skins, public space, etc.)
