The information on this site is a good introduction , each piece is very brief. This can be also be a good thing to slow down the amount of information presented and take time to further discuss and explain the ideas presented. However, for more extensive learning, this site is not a complete resource. The black background of the site provides a good backdrop for the content and the overview and table of contents make it easy to navigate around the site. Some of the interactives seem pointless.

Description:

The online exhibit, Make a Splash with Color, has three areas: Talking About Color; The Lighter Side of Color and An Eye on Color. Use the table of contents of overview to view the 3-4 subjects in each area. Explore hue, saturation and brightness. Learn about reflection, filters, dyes, glowing light and sources of light. Discover how we see, how animals see and the inner workings of the human eye.

Possible uses:

Teachers can use some of the demonstrations on this site to integrate into lessons. Some of the graphics can be projected to offer a visual of a concept. Create a worksheet focused on curriculum to garner from this site. Students can work in pairs to read and explore the site. Classes studying how vision works can use the `An Eye on Color´ portion.
