Tolerance.org provides resources for teachers and parents around the topic of getting along with others. Tolerance Planet is the area of the site geared for children. The highlights of this site are the storybooks and the interactive learning adventure. Teacher and parent guides are provided.

Description:

Planet Tolerance provides reading activities (one bilingual), interactive activities and two exhibits for kids. From the website: "Tolerance.org is a principal online destination for people interested in dismantling bigotry and creating, in hate's stead, communities that value diversity. If you want to know how to transform yourself, your home, your school, your workplace or your community, Tolerance.org is a place to start , and continue , the journey. "Through its online well of resources and ideas, its expanding collection of print materials, its burgeoning outreach efforts, and its downloadable public service announcements, Tolerance.org promotes and supports anti-bias activism in every venue of life."

Possible uses:

Teachers, parents and students can find activities on this site. Students can have one of four stories read to them or read a story with the sound turned off. Interactive activities include creating a personalized storybook that students can print. These activities can spark discussion or complement ongoing classroom conversations about getting along with others. An interactive learning adventure, `VoteQuest,´ takes students on a journey to learn about women´s rights. Older students can utilize the `Civil Rights Memorial´ exhibit. Connect to Tolerance.org´s homepage for additional information and resources.
