The online exhibits are collected by themes. The images on this site are high quality, though they cannot be enlarged to full screen. There are several ways to search this site but not a centralized site map. Each online exhibit is its own fully developed, independent exhibit.

Description:

From the website: "Founded in 1866, the Peabody Museum is one of the oldest museums in the world devoted to anthropology and houses one of the most comprehensive records of human cultural history in the Western Hemisphere." This companion website shares these collections online. Find research articles and images related to the museum´s anthropology collection.

Possible uses:

Even if you are able to visit the museum, this web collection contains images of artifacts that are not on display, so it´s worth looking at the site, too. Teachers can find articles, letters and information and a collection of images to share with students. Find special ongoing projects and search the collections to find materials that fit with curriculum.
