The pages of the `ologies´ are set up to capture students´ interest. Cartoon characters conduct interviews and share facts with viewers. The topics are pretty comprehensively covered by a variety of activities.

Description:

Explore various `ologies´ such as astronomy, paleontology, einstein, genetics, marine biology, the earth, bio diversity and archaeology through interactive learning experiences and games. From the website: "On Ology, you can find out about fossils, the universe, animals and much more. Collect over 100 Ology cards and make projects with them. Do activities, such as drawing dinosaurs or making a bird feeder. Meet Ologists - kids and scientists who share their discoveries with you."

Possible uses:

Choose a specific area and have students fully explore the site to introduce a new topic. As a culminating activity for a unit of study, students can share what new things they learned and what they found to be missing from the site. Teachers may find components of an `ology´ page to use as a class presentation. The `Going Gobi´ is a good example of this.
