Neuroscience for Kids
Recommendation:
While the table of contents of this site is not visually a favorite, it is an incredible site. The amount of information is amazing and it is written to capture the interest of students and sustain it. Articles lead to other components of the site and keep the viewer interacting with the information. The experiments that can be conducted online are fun and thought provoking. The games don´t all include the science `why´ behind them, so that´s something teachers should add before playing. This site will have kids interested in brain science!
Description:
Neuroscience for Kids contains information, online experiments and activities, links to additional resources, articles about neuroscience in the news, a newsletter for kids and more.
Possible uses:
There are so many aspects to this site that teachers need to search the site first to find components to use in class. Or have students search and then share what interesting things they learn at the start of a neuroscience unit. Students can do online experiments on themselves related to brain function, read articles, conduct research and sign up for a weekly newsletter.
