This site is a collection of many resources, though is not exhaustive. The list of Individual Indian Nations is a valuable resource for teachers and students. An icon on the list indicates whether the information is maintained by the tribe itself or an outside source.

Description:

This is the site of Lisa Mitten, a mixed-blood Mohawk Indian and a former librarian. Here find links to many resources related to current issues and history of Native Americans. Learn about powwows, languages, the mascot issue and Native Americans in the military and more. Also find a comprehensive list of Individual Indian Nations, alphabetically organized. From the site: "My goal is to facilitate communication among Native peoples and between Indians and non-Indians by providing access to home pages of Native American Nations and organizations, and to other sites that provide solid information about American Indians."

Possible uses:

Teachers creating a unit related to Native Americans can find useful information and links from this site. Older students can use this resource for individual research purposes, too.
