Recommendation:

This site organizes the games by grade level and offers many of the interactive games at multiple grade levels. The amount of word problems presented is wonderful! Especially when this is an area that many students are wary of, this site adds an element of fun to solving them. Word problems for younger students include graphics to help in computation. The site does carry ads on the right side. There are menu bars on the top and bottom of the page that are different and some new links appear on pages further in the site.

Organized by grade level, Math Playground offers interactive experiences for math learning. Word problems, flash cards, an online quiz, logic games, logo programming and math practice facts are presented in a fun, interactive manner for students to practice their skills and challenge their thinking. The word problems include Math TV, with whiteboard style explanations of problem solutions. Teachers can find a math worksheet generator tool.

Possible uses:

Teachers can find games here to integrate into their curriculum for student practice. The word problems can be used in teaching on a projector. Students can learn from watching and discussing the solutions presented in the Math TV videos that accompany the word problems.
