Kid Port
Recommendation:
The `Think and Learn Site Map´ lays out the skills targeted through the activities on the site. `Kidport Highlights´ provides a quick look at some of the types of activities offered. These are also the `highlights´ and showcase some of the best activities on the site. The activities vary in depth, but some of the good ones are worth utilizing. The site claims it´s still being created, though with a copyright date of 1998-2004, it´s hard to tell when the site last was worked on and if it will really continue to grow. `Contents´ is also a useful page to see what the site offers.
Description:
From the website: "Kidport is an Internet-based educational service designed to help K-8 students excel in school. It provides a unique, multistep program to create empowered learners, not simply good students. "The Kidport learning system applies visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles to help students better learn and understand. "In a world where what you know is obsolete every year -- your most important skill becomes the ability to quickly learn new concepts and information. Today businesses compete, and win, based on how quickly they learn, adapt to and take advantage of this fast changing world. To do this, businesses need people who are `active learners´ not `knowers.´ "To be a lifelong learner, students must have highly developed thinking and learning skills."
