This site provides basic writing help with katakana, hirigana and some kanji. The kanji offered, of course, don´t touch the entire dictionary of kanji characters, but they do give a good beginning list. This site is created by an individual learning Japanese. Teachers should verify the accuracy of the content.

Description:

Learn to write Japanese katakana, hiragana and some kanji using this writing tutor. From the website: "This page is meant to help students of Japanese practice their writing skills. By following along with the motion of several animated GIF files, you can hone your writing skills, making your katakana, hiragana, and kanji more legible. As of now, it does not deal with transliteration, diphthongs, why the characters are organized the way they are, or any other writing conventions; it is only meant to help learn individual characters."

Possible uses:

Students learning Japanese can use this tool to visualize and learn the Japanese alphabets and some kanji. Learn stroke order, sound and meaning of some kanji characters. Teachers can project this site to share an animated example of the characters.
