Recommendation:

4 of 5 4 of 5

The site contains bright, simple graphics, appropriate for the audience. Very basic vocabulary is covered. Each area is not comprehensive by any means. The animal page has about four animals and includes an insect. The site is best used for building mouse skills. The vocabulary and spelling are an added bonus feature. The counting page has the best academic value.

Description:

Explore the various areas in this town of towers. Click on various towers to learn vocabulary. See each word spelled out on a chalkboard. Each area contains about eight words. Click on the window to return to the towers or click on the next area. "Metro" takes you to other similar sites, without the text component. The crazy green map is an index to all the pages on the site.

Possible uses:

Students becoming familiar with the computer can use this site to practice mouse control. Young students and ELL students can use the site to hear words pronounced and see the word written to build vocabulary. Words can be repeated many times as students practice saying them.
