Find more links at the bottom of the `Testimonials´ page that lead to the teacher tools and information on professional development. The ETTC is located in New Jersey and the professional development courses offered occur on campus. These poetry forms range from fill in the blank, Mad Libs style, to more open ended. This tool can make poetry seem less daunting and more fun for reluctant writers.
Description:
Instant Poetry provides more than 80 online forms for poems. Students are guided to fill in blanks to create various poems. Some have specific topics, some have general topics and some are open for complete creative choice. A topical index is provided as well as an alphabetical list. Teachers can also find lesson plans and tools to utilize when teaching poetry or integrating technology into the classroom.
Possible uses:
Teachers can use one or many of these poetry forms for students to write poetry. Students can click on different forms to find one that interests them and then write. There is one poem, `I Once Knew,´ that contains a pull-down menu of words to help students who need extra support with the process. Teachers can find professional development courses related to technology use. On the `Greatest Hits´ page, teachers can find a lengthy list of websites, organized by subject, that integrate technology into curriculum.
