The animations and characters on the site are silly, colorful and fun. Directions for the games are simple and easy for young students to understand and are demonstrated at the start of each game. The introductions and instructions can be skipped for repeat play. Some of the games require students to click and drag, which can be challenging for students learning to use the mouse. Connections to learning standards and summaries of skills each game covers are available in the teacher/parent area.

Description:

Game Goo provides educational games in early reading and language classes that `stick with you.´ The games are organized into beginner, intermediate and advanced groupings with skills ranging from alphabet recognition to antonym and synonym identification.

Possible uses:

Teachers can integrate these games into curriculum for students to practice skills. This site can be used as a whole class experience in the computer lab or with smaller groups or individuals based on need. Station time or choice time could make this site available to students.
