This is a well organized, visually appealing research project. It helps students acquire information but does not ask them to interpret or develop new ideas from the information. A rubric is provided. A teacher page shows the standards and organization of the WebQuest content.

Description:

Students work independently, in pairs and in small groups to discover four types of farming and learn about the farm ecosystem. From the website: "By visiting agriculturally based websites, the students will be able to identify all of the integral parts to a farming ecosystem, design their own farm including all of those parts, and produce a commercial showing the benefits of farming."

Possible uses:

Classes studying farming or ecosystems can use this WebQuest to learn information. The resources or ideas for activities can be used independently from the WebQuest and incorporated into curriculum. The Teacher page recommends linking this unit to the literature, Sarah Plain and Tall and Skylark.
