The current events area allows teachers to make connections to issues in the world, thus making the lessons meaningful for students, especially high school students. The lessons are organized and easily searchable. For teachers mapping out lessons to cover standards, this site provides a tool to narrow down the lessons related to each state standards in economics. The site map and Professional Development areas are not developed.

Description:

EconEdLink offers several means to utilize the Internet to teach Economics. The area called CyberTeach shares model lessons and templates. Find lesson plans and links connected to current events. Search through organized lists of links of data, charts, primary source material and simulations related to economics topics. The site is searchable by topic and by state standards.

Possible uses:

Use this site to find useful lessons to use with students. Use the data links to find online resources for students to use while doing work or projects, like the unemployment rate.
