The font on this site is hard to read for extended periods of time. It´s attractive, but adds strain for young readers especially. An animated movie from brainpop.com is included in the process, which is a nice mix of media. The activities are varied and are appropriate for a third grade audience.

Description:

This WebQuest teaches and utilizes simile, metaphor and imagery in writing. Students learn the meanings of each of these literary terms, practice them, take a quiz and then create a self-portrait described with simile and metaphor.

Possible uses:

Use this WebQuest to enrich and enhance a study of simile, metaphor and imagery. Components can be used to add visual demonstrations to a lesson. Or choose one element to focus on and do just those activities.
