This site provides resources for teachers, is visually interesting and uses a variety of methods to communicate with students. There are no current expeditions to participate in, but exploring the past explorations provides a wealth of knowledge from real scientists presented in a multimedia fashion. Sign up to receive notice of the next expedition to participate alongside the scientists.

From the site: "Dive and Discover is an interactive distance learning web site designed to immerse you in the excitement of discovery and exploration of the deep seafloor. Dive and Discover brings you right on board a series of research cruises around the globe and gives you access to the latest oceanographic and deep submergence research as it happens! "Be at the front line of scientific inquiry and join scientists,geologists, geophysicists, chemists and biologists,who are exploring the seafloor and making amazing deep-sea discoveries. Daily updates, photos, videos and e-mail correspondence with scientists aboard research vessels allow you to follow the progress of the scientific mission and find out about life on the floating laboratories at sea."

Possible uses:

Choose an expedition to use in the classroom. Pretend that it is going on now and read the journals daily, pose questions and research to find answers. View the videos and slideshows to visit the location. Read participants´ questions and the answers from the scientists. Find local scientists to answer your questions or come to speak to your class.
