There are audio components to the interactive experience of going on a dig. Younger students could easily go through this experience with little adult help. The activities and modes of presentation on the site are varied and sustain interest. The site focuses on the environments which includes animals and plants other than the crocodile.

Description:

After the dinosaurs crocodiles ruled the earth before wooly mammoths and cavemen arrived. On this site, visit the environment 60 million years ago, explore the flora and fauna and engage in interactive activities. The Field School conducts archeological digs. Learn about their digs and read about their findings.

Possible uses:

This site can be shared in pieces as students study what the earth was like millions of years ago. Share on a projector or in a computer lab. Students can also explore this site independently. The teacher components offer a few investigations - activities for the classroom to do in conjunction with learning about crocodiles, fossils and plants.
