Students will enjoy this project while learning interesting information about something very relevant to their lives and interests. The work of each role could vary greatly. Teams should work together as much as possible to do all components of the project so that the photojournalist is not idle.

Description:

As Scientists, Photojournalists and Investigators, students learn about shadows, movement of the sun, and the use of directional descriptions. From the Introduction: "Have you ever played the shadow game with your friends? Have you ever tried to step on the shadows of their heads or their legs or their arms? Have you ever noticed your shadow changes? Sometimes it is longer, sometimes shorter and sometimes it just isn't there! What causes this to happen? "Your job will be to find out why your shadow changes daily, hourly, even in a minute's time! Are you ready to lurk among the shadows and find information that will help you understand shadows and how we can use them?"

Possible uses:
