This site is a comprehensive collection of the many aspects of the living museum in Williamsburg. The site is large enough that teachers may need to spend some time narrowing down what pieces are most useful for their curriculum. The breadth of information and the variety of formats it is presented in provide a complete picture that allows students to virtually visit Colonial Times.

Description:

Colonial Williamsburg is the world´s largest living history museum. The website shares many of the exhibits, along with videos, images, activities, research materials and images from Colonial Williamsburg. In the `Kid Zone´ area, find electronic field trips, lesson plans and activities for students.

Possible uses:

If planning a visit to Williamsburg, this site will help with preparation and give a strong background for the experiences the museum shares. If far away from Williamsburg, this site provides an incredible resource to utilize in studying the Colonial Times in America. Teachers and students can find an abundance of information, presented as it is through the museum, in a multimedia manner. Use components of the site, share images and movies with students on a projector and use the site for research.
