The site is a multimedia presentation that captivates the eye and ear. The information, stories and images here do not tell a complete story about Native American culture or even mention all the different tribes. Using this site to complement a study rich from other resources would be worthwhile. The faces and voices are powerful.

Description:

This PBS site shares the stories of Native Americans. These stories share culture and the art of storytelling. From the site: "Circle of Stories uses documentary film, photography, artwork and music to honor and explore Native American storytelling." Listen to stories, view image galleries, learn about issues facing Native Americans today, share your stories, contact the storytellers and find lessons and activities for the classroom.

Possible uses:

Share these stories during a storytelling unit or a history unit. Study Native American culture and the role storytelling plays. Share the site with students, either via a projector or in the computer lab, then discuss the content and message the site conveys. Have students write their own stories.
