The site offers some research evidence in the FAQ page. The skills targeted or material covered are not apparent without downloading and trying out the program yourself. Incorporating music into the program is a valuable multiple intelligence approach.

Description:

AperMat provides math skill practice, primarily aimed at Spanish speaking students in grades 1-3. Download a workbook, a songbook and then use the materials with the podcast and songs. From the website: "With the enactment of `No Child Left Behind“ higher math standards require proven instructional methods. At present the math instruction programs available in the public school system do not offer the majority of Spanish speaking children the opportunity of becoming numerate. "By employing a proven, field tested, program used by a number of Spanish speaking countries to increase the math literacy of K-third grade, Spanish language users will improve their mathematical ability, level of academic achievement and the likelihood of achieving more in their lives."

Possible uses:

Teachers and families can use these materials to enhance math learning. Families who speak primarily Spanish at home can support their student“s math learning. Download the books for individuals or for an entire class. Use the program to complement district curriculum.
