This is a page of Keveney´s personal webpage. He has a strong interest in engines, mechanics and diagrams. The illustrations and animations are well done in a simple way that provides clear explanation. This site needs to be supplemented with other curricular material, but it is a valuable visual tool.

Description:

Animated Engines provides simple colored drawings that move to demonstrate three types of engines: internal combustion, steam and Stirling. The animation is followed by step-by-step descriptions detailing the movement of gases during engine operation.

Possible uses:

Teachers can share these diagrams with a projector to illustrate various engines. Students studying physics, machines, engine design and airplanes will find applicable information and explanations here.
