This site contains ads along the side and across the bottom of the home page. On the top right side of the home page, connect to two similar resources - Ancient Peru and Ancient Chile. These are developed by the same group and contain similar components, though neither is as extensive as Ancient Mexico. The graphics and information on this site help sustain interest and make the site one that is easy to read through and enjoy.

Description:

At Ancient Mexico learn about the history, art and culture of Mesoamerica. Check out the Map section to see Pre-Columbian Mexico. Click on a city name to read more specific information from that time period. In the Gods area, click on a name or picture to view information on ancient deities. Conquest is a online story that delves into the conquest of Mexico and the fall of the Aztec empire. A timeline shows the different eras of Mexican culture, as well as locations. Read historical documents from Mexico; there are five on different subjects. On the front page find interesting articles on things in the news about Ancient Mexico.

Possible uses:

This site provides a resource for students conducting research about Ancient Mexico. Components of the site can be used during class discussions and lectures on a projector. Students can also interact with components of the site in the computer lab. Connect to more recent, relevant news stories on the top left side of the home page.
