This site is well organized and contains a wealth of images of artifacts and primary source documents. There are several ways to search the site and find information. Guidance for reading old documents and comparing artifacts is included. The online activities are fun and contain some educational value. The classroom resources are extensive, including whole units.
Description:
This site, from the Memorial Hall Museum, shares a library of primary resources, curricula and interactive student activities. Search the digital collection of over 2000 images and documents, learn about life at the turn of three centuries (1700, 1800, 1900), learn more about the raid on Deerfield in 1704 and find classroom materials that accompany the site.
Possible uses:
Several complete units are available in the classroom resources area. Single lessons are also searchable by subject area and time period. Students and teachers can use the digital collection to enhance learning with visual images of artifacts from the times. Teachers can use the activities and research information to share with students as it fits with curriculum. Students can use the site for research.
