This site studies music videos, an important component to a media literacy study. However, the information is brief and offers more questions than research to utilize. The thesis is interesting, but is without links, images or real concrete material to use with students.

Description:

Breakin' it Down was created to help young people think critically about music videos. The site contains three areas: facts about music videos, a forum for sharing opinions and information from the site creator to 'dig deeper' into the topic through links to her master thesis work.

Possible uses:

This site can be used in conjunction with a media literacy unit. Share the 'Factoids' section with a class to promote discussion and further research. Students can write independently or in small groups and share their opinions on this site. Teachers can find interesting information in the thesis provided online.
