Recommendation:

This site is a very valuable resource for ESL/EFL/ELL teachers and students. While there is an enormous amount of information and activities, it is organized and easy to view just a small piece of the site without having to read through the entire site first. Then when there's more time, this site is worth exploring to find further pieces useful for teachers. Through the forums, sharing ideas with other teachers and/or students creates a sense of community.

Description:

Dave's ESL Cafe is the "Internet's meeting place for ESL and EFL teachers and students from around the world!" This site includes resources for teachers and students related to teaching and learning English. Fifteen teacher forums include class activities, adult education, linguistics, bilingual education, computer-assisted learning, elementary education and employment. There are also fifteen student forums on topics such as hobbies, holidays, current news, movies, computers, literature, music, learning English, etc.

Possible uses:

This site is large and provides many uses for teachers and students. Students can practice English skills, ask questions and participate in forums. Teachers can find activities to use with students, participate in forums, and find job postings, resources and recommended books. Teachers can direct students to specific activities to complete or utilize the online quizzes.
