While this site does not contain interactive experiences for students, it is a valuable resource for educators. The videos//DVDs are expensive, but seem worthwhile to accompany media curriculum. Often it is difficult to know if a video is appropriate to curriculum or what it includes. MEF videos can be requested for a 15 day preview before purchasing.

Description:

MEF creates documentary videos/DVDs about current topics related to the media. Resources and videos are available for purchase. From the website: "Media Education Foundation produces and distributes video documentaries to encourage critical thinking and debate about the relationship between media ownership, commercial media content, and the democratic demand for free flows of information, diverse representations of ideas and people, and informed citizen participation."

Possible uses:

Teachers can research information related to various media topics and find videos to utilize in teaching. Handouts, transcripts of radio interviews and study guides for the videos are all available free on the site. Interested viewers can also sign up to receive the MEF's monthly email newsletter.
