The activities can stand alone and take an entire class period, so this is a site to return to again and again. The Artists Toolkit is a particularly good activity to explore artists tools and create art on the computer.

ArtsConnectEd is a website with "access to the combined collections, libraries and archives of the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Using the power of the Internet to stimulate new approaches to learning, the goal of ArtsConnectEd is to make arts education timely, engaging, interactive, and pertinent for both teachers and students of all ages." The site contains search engines, lesson plans, relevant links and online activities.
Possible uses:
Individual activities can be used with a class to explore a topic, such as embroidery or the tools artists use. The site can also be used by older students to conduct research or explore museum exhibits. Teachers will find valuable search engines and activities here.
