Each topic and sub-topic is expanded in unique ways. The games and activities are geared to children and are informational without appearing biased. They are easy to navigate so students can work independently. Each sub-topic contains links and information for teachers. The pages for teachers and high school students are excellent resources for a variety of materials.

Description:

Environmental Kids Club is a collection of experiments, online games, stories, pictures and information about environmental issues for children. The general topics covered include Science, water, air, you & your environment, plants & animals, garbage & recycling, art and games. The site contains an additional area for high school students and one for teachers. These pages include research information, ideas for community service projects, student jobs, scholarships, workshops, curriculum information and connections to other related links. From the website: "The mission of the Environmental Protection Agency is to protect human health and the environment. Since 1970, EPA has been working for a cleaner, healthier environment for the American people."

Possible uses:

Teachers can find activities and games to complement an environmental study or to utilize during student free time. Students can use this site to research environmental issues, learn new information about many topics, play the games and find experiments to conduct. Teachers can find curriculum resources and information. Older students can also find resources for community service ideas, scholarships, environmental careers and internships.
