Radio Days: A WebQuest
Recommendation:
This WebQuest is well designed and easy for students to follow. A grading rubric is provided. Because students are assigned distinct and varied roles for this project, they will not experience each component equally intensely, but they are involved together to create a time line of radio drama and discuss their ideas before they start their own production.
Description:
Students embark on the task of writing and producing a new radio drama. Working as a playwright, a Foley Artist (sound effects) or an advertising executive, each student conducts research (links provided). The group then writes a script with sound effects and commercials and performs its drama.
Possible uses:
In small groups, students work through this WebQuest on and off the internet. Students will practice cooperation skills, research and writing skills. The site also provides many resources for anyone looking for information about radio dramas.
